Silicon Valley Film Festival 2011 Lineup announced

 

SANTA CLARA, CA - (September 20, 2011) – The Silicon Valley Film Festival (http://www.svfilmfestival.org) has announced its 2011 lineup featuring nearly 100 film makers who share a vision for tomorrow’s world of by celebrating the Spirit of Silicon Valley: Technology, Innovations, Entrepreneurship in the most powerful visual media - Digital Filmmaking.

 

The festival spotlights the region’s unique spirit of creativity, innovation and environmental consciousness with the film festival to be held in the Santa Clara Convention Center on October 1st  and 2nd , 2011.

 

Featured films take the form of short, musical, animation, and machinima movies. SVFF also honors world famous artists, activists, and innovators with a special screening of their movies. This year’s honorary film, “Bob Marley: The Making of a Legend”, is a digitally remastered portrait of lost footage charting the rise of Bob Marley and the Wailers to international stardom

 

The festival will feature a special panel discussion on the “Advent of Social Film” led by Bay Area visionaries and creators of “The Inside Experience” presented by Intel and Toshiba. The gripping social film starring Emmy Rossum and directed by DJ Caruso, takes viewers through a 3 week social experience that includes letting participants audition for a role in the final film.

 

Silicon Valley Film Festival aims to bring the creative community together to celebrate innovation in digital cinema. The event concludes with the Silicon Valley Awards Ceremony, a multi-cultural celebration of live performances and honoring the 8 best films in their respective categories with a unique Trophy.

 

The event will be a fun filled melding of great movies, inspiring vision, and insights from our guest luminaries including Melinda Hamilton, Mayor of Sunnyvale, Santa Clara council member Kevin Moore, Michael Kasperzak, Vice Mayor of Mountain View, Jose Esteves, Mayor of Milpitasand, and Kenneth Hughes, Indie Filmmaker, Producer and Actor from Hollywood.
