School council is a great way to communicate between parents staff and the                             community. Irene commented that school councils are for parents to provide input to                 administration about school programs. Irene will be e-mailing Karissa a set of                         by-laws/procedures from another school for us to have a look at and                                 implement. If parents or staff have any concerns or         would like something to be                         discussed should e-mail Karissa Sparling at sparling@yahoo.ca.

8.0        Admin Report

The student led conferences were a great success and are looking forward to building                 on that. Parent attendance was increased and the kids had alot of fun                                 preparing and showing their work. Its a great way to involve the kids with their own                 learning and build their confidence.

Apple has donated 25 itouches and 5 ipads for our schools use for a month. Hoping to                 have them in the middle of April. This will be a great way to see how these tools may be                 used in our classrooms and where they will be the most beneficial.

George has asked that the council organize a parent supervision program for next year.                 The council will look into having volunteers at the school lunch recess to aid in the                 supervision of the kids

With space being an issue for next school year Admin has opted to use Mr. Currie’s                 current Grade 4 room for the Grade 2 class next year. The two current Grade 1 classes                 will be combined next year in that classroom with 2 teachers. We are looking forward to                 all the positive learning experiences this setting can bring.
