How to save clipboard contents in Office 2010

Use Microsoft Clip Organizer, which can be found in Windows Start menu under All programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Tools.

Copy (Ctrl-C) the contents you wish to save to clipboard as usual. Then Paste it in Microsoft Clip Organizer. That’s it. You can retrieve the contents at any time with Microsoft Clip Organizer.

Microsoft Clip Organizer saves the clipboard contents as a file in your home directory under folder Pictures\Microsoft Clip Organizer\ from where you can copy the file to elsewhere if necessary.

Office 2016 and Office 365

Clip organizer is not included in Office 2016 and Office 365. Select the part of (Excel) document, but do not use default Copy function; instead, select Copy as Picture (in submenu for Copy), then select As shown on screen (at least if selection would otherwise not fit on one page), and Picture (NOT Bitmap), and click OK. Contents can then be pasted in other programs, and saved preferred format.

To paste it in another Office (Word) document, do not use default Paste function; instead, select Paste Special (in submenu for Paste), and Paste as Picture (Enhanced Metafile). Pasted image has now good resolution for printing and zooming.
