WILLIAM ROYALL SCHOLARSHIP

FOR EXCELLENCE IN CLASSICAL STUDIES

For 2012 a scholarship of $500.00 will be awarded to a student who has excelled in

course work taken in the Department of Classical Languages. The scholarship is open to

all Wake Forest undergraduates, with preference given to the student who will use the

fund to travel abroad to classical sites.

Completed applications must be submitted to the Chair of the Department of Classical

Languages, Tribble Hall B-6, by April2, 2012. The name of the scholarship recipient

will be announced in mid-April.

Courses taken in the Department of Classical Languages:

1. Please attach a statement indicating your previous foreign travel (dates, places, purpose), the ways in which this scholarship will contribute to your education and future plans, and other relevant information which you believe should be considered.

2. Applicants should also ask two Wake Forest faculty members to provide brief letters of recommendation.  These should be sent directly to the Department Chair, Dr. James Powell, Tribble B6.
