Executive Statement:

I want to create a business using the brick and mortar model. I want to create a business that is a medical practice and fitness gym. I want to allow my patrons to choose which program they want to do. They can work with both a psychiatrist and/or a personal trainer. They will teach people the importance of balance.

Mission

Our mission is simple: Happiness through balance.

Vision

Vision statement: I want to educate people on the value of staying healthy and I want to empower them to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Business strategy

I want to have my business in Chicago. According to Dr. Ronald Silver, “Chicago is the best city for a doctor”. This is why I want to start in Chicago. My business will grow because many people in the U.S. are overweight, depressed and lack the motivation to exercise. My business offers them a place to get help in all 3 of those aspects of their lives and they will do it in a safe environment. People will work with a personal trainer and/or a psychiatrist or psychologist. There will also be a nutritionist to educate people on eating healthy.

Rates:

1st Consultation with personal trainer, psychiatrist, and nutritionist: Free

1st hour with psychiatrists: 150$

Each follow up appointment: 100$/hr

Personal training session: 70$/hr

Nutritionist appointment: 100$

Definition of Market

My main competitor in this market will be Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. This is a very well funded hospital that has fitness and treatment programs very similar to mine. The way I plan on having the upper hand is I am going to try to be in bigger cities, have no overnight treatment, and have more locations. In big cities there is not going to be a huge calling for overnight therapeutic treatment so I will try to maximize the hours that I am open and fit as many clients in as possible.

Product and Services

I will providing a safe space for people to work on their mental and physical health. I will be allowing people to work with a team consisting of: a personal trainer, nutritionist, and/or psychologist.

Marketing and Sales Strategy

I hope to use the allure of having a healthy balanced lifestyle to entice people into using our services. The main issue I see is that there is a stigma attached to therapy so I think we need to have a marketing plan to shake that stigma. The people I have to market to most is, corporations. I want to find corporations that are very concerned with their employees health and how it affects their job performance. Then they can sign their employees up to use our services.

Scaling & Projections

Grow the organization, launch more sites

As my business grows in popularity, I will franchise it. This will cause me to create a very uniform model for all of my gyms. I will need to establish a logo, uniforms, and a theme for my business. I will try to create a relaxed and safe theme because that will set the tone for all of the people who use my gym.

My primary clientele will be businesses who will sign their employees up. Many businesses have become much more cognizant of their employee’s health. They will sign their employees up with hope that they will feel better and be able to perform better at work.

Replicate your model using other organizations

Create a social movement

I hope to start a movement that’s very exercise-centric. I hope to create a movement that emphasis the importance of mental and physical health. People will understand that physical health has a direct effect on people’s ability to work. When people feel better about themselves then they are motivated to work hard and excel.

Considerations of scale:

I will maximize my company’s value by reaching out to other businesses because it will give me a huge client base which will allow for my business to spread. It will spread through word of mouth and advertising campaign

How do you balance the rate of growth?

I will balance this by spending within my means. I will never over-expand

Is bigger always better?

Not necessarily but my goal is to expand and become a giant company. The most important thing is to spend within my means and allow my company to grow.
