Mrs. Chinn grew up in Indiana with her parents and her older sister. Her mom is a registered nurse and her father is a retired educator who was a classroom teacher, as well as a principal. Mrs. Chinn started her “teaching career” early, coming to school before the required time, with her father and staying after school to help teachers in their classrooms, organize her father’s desk, or simply enjoying free reign of her favorite spot in the whole school, the library.
Mrs. Chinn attended college at Indiana State University. Picking a major was easy for her. Beginning in first grade Mrs. Chinn knew exactly what she wanted to be, a teacher. She had already spent most of her life training to be a teacher by following in the footsteps of her father.
In the spring of 1997 she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education, an Endorsement in Computer Education, and a Concentration in Special Education. In 2004 she graduated from North Eastern Illinois University, with a Masters in Reading for grades K-12.
Mrs. Chinn lives in the area with her husband of nine years and three year old son. Reading, gardening, dining out, and playing outside, is how Mrs. Chinn spends most of her free time.
