 The children will compare and contrast community service workers’ jobs, work, and responsibilities.

  1.  Ask the children who help in our community?
  2. Talk about jobs people have.
  3. Read aloud “So Many Jobs.”
  4. Have the children look at the pictures and name the different workers shown.
  5. Ask:  What kind of the services each community helper provides? What would happen if a a community didn’t have police officers in our community?
  6. Have the children answer:  How community helpers contributes to the safety and well-being of the community? Why do communities need community helpers?
