Applebee’s Style Ribs
Prepared Rib Seitan
2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
6 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
6 tablespoons vegan Worcestershire Sauce
2 teaspoons liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon salt
1. Have the seitan ribs prepared and cooled.
2. Combine the ketchup, vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire Sauce, smoke and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring the sauce to a boil and reduce to simmer. Simmer for 30 minutes.
3. Preheat the broiler to high.
4. Place the seitan pretty side down on a baking sheet, cover with 1/4 cup of the sauce and broil 5 inches from the heat for 6 to 8 minutes. Flip, add more sauce and broil for another 6 to 10 minutes or until slightly charred and the sauce is bubbling. Serve with the remaining sauce.
