The children will learn to appreciate the sense of smell. 

What are some of God’s gifts? 

  1. Have the children tell what are some of gods gifts to us.
  2. Have a child place the nose to our face outline.
  3. Ask the children to tell of smells they like.
  4. Play “Follow the Scent.”
  5. Place cups with fragrant items in them.
  6. Cover children’s eyes.
  7. Have the children identify the fragrance and tell if they like the smell or not.
  8. Have the children talk about the smells they dislike.
  9. Distribute Activity Page 39.
  10. Have the children look at the illustrations and help them figured out what each person is smelling.
  11. Talk about decomposes food and its smell.
  12. Ask: What those that smell tells us?
  13. What should we do with that food?
  14. Have the children glue a smiley face in the box next to the picture.
  15. Gather the children for prayer.

  4. Ask the children: What do you smell when there is a fire? What sense do you think we use when there is a fire? How does that sense help us stay safe? What would happen if we did not smelled the smoke?
  5. Distribute Activity Page 232.
