HPREP – Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program.   an outreach program designed to provide high school students with the opportunity to interact with medical students, faculty and health professionals. HPREP is designed for members of minority ethnic groups, although others are welcome to apply. Students meet at the UNC School of Medicine for seven Saturdays, January 22 - March 5th from 10:00am - 2:30pm. For the fist 5 weeks there is about an hour of fun, interactive teaching of human body organ systems and diseases, gross anatomy labs (have you ever held a real human heart in your hands?!) and a discussion on the topic of the day. Students will also have a health professional shadowing experience one Saturday morning. There will also be more structured opportunities to interact with medical professionals, medical students and UNC college students. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each Saturday. Participants will travel to Davidson as our guests, participate in Discover Davidson II on Sunday, October 16th, spend the night on campus, and depart on Monday, October 17th.

To be considered, your students must submit the following by September 25th:

·         The Common Application or Part I of the Davidson Application for Admission.

·         Their transcript, including senior year classes.

·         A copy of their SAT or ACT scores.
