Easy Pizza Dough Recipe - {Diddles & Dumplings}

Ingredients:

2-1/4 tsp (or one package) active dry yeast

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1-1/2 cups of very warm water

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons oil

3-3/4 flour, divided into 3-1/4 and 1/2 cup

Instructions

In a medium mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Allow to stand at room temperature for 10 minutes, or until the yeast is foamy and bubbly. If it's not foamy and bubbly after 10 minutes, your water temperature was probably too high or too low or your yeast had gone bad.

Add salt, oil and flour to the bowl and mix together well. Make sure the flour is all mixed in. Now, using your hands, begin to knead the dough in the bowl, adding sprinklings of that 1/2 cup of flour that you set aside, as you need it. You don't want the dough to be sticky, so add as much flour as you need while you knead. Knead about 10-12 times.

Place dough in a large mixing bowl coated with oil. Toss dough once to coat with oil. Cover with a dish towel and allow dough to rise for 1-1/2 hours.

Once you are ready to use your dough, spread it out on your cookie sheet and then allow it to rise for an additional 5-10 minutes before adding sauce and toppings.

If using a cookie sheet, the baking instructions are:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Spread your sauce and toppings over your dough, place it in the oven and cook for 17-19 minutes, or until crust is crispy and golden brown.

Your finished pizza crust should have a nice crisp on the outside and be warm, thick and fluffy on the inside.
