2011 Executive Committee
An unknown author once said: “Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.” - so true as I observed the planning for MJ2011. When I first got involved with planning of this year’s Mahavir Jayanti, I honestly did not anticipate the amount of work for the annual tradition of cultural program and Swamivatsalaya. Mahavir Jayanti is the largest and most comprehensive event that our community organizes every year under the auspices of Hindu Center of NC. We are blessed to have so many volunteers who come forward, sometime even before we have requested for help. It’s the collective efforts of everyone, that has made this event possible.
Starting this month, I will publish a lightweight version of the Newsletter. This will allow people with very old web client to read the newsletter without any problems and will display well on smartphones. I will also attach as PDF version for quick printing.

3. Upcoming Activities
Ths JSCNC 2011 calendar is now online. Please visit http://www.jscnc.org/cal.php The calendar has the most up-to-date listing of all confirmed activities for the year.
JSCNC Pathshala serves our young kids to instill spiritual development, self-awareness and promote Jain identity in individuals, based on the principles of Jainism. The teachers pay special attention to the needs of young and older groups and have structured curriculum as such.
The Paathshala classes take place every first Sunday of the month from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Hindu Temple Cultural Hall AND on 3rd Sundays during the monthly meeting. If you plan to attend and/or need more information, please call Mrs. Rita Lodaya or Mrs. Sejal Shah. Paathshala e-mail address is JSCNCpathshala@yahoo.com.
The pathshala teachers, students and other community participants are very busy preparing for the upcoming Mahavir Jayanti program. They would like to thank the kids for their continued hard work. Special THANKS go to all the Volunteers, some of whom are busy working parents! On behalf of the Paathshala coordinators, the committee would like to emphasize to all of the participants and their parents to cooperate with the volunteer choreographers.
There are very few practices left before they go live on stage in front of a 300 people audience. Please make sure your child attends all practices and attends the mandatory rehearsal scheduled for Sat. Apr 9th.
