Open Studio 125 TIMES = In addition to FLEX time= the art studio will be open  everyday during 1st per.,   BREAK,  LUNCH, Mon-Thurs. after school until 4:00pm  & additionally after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until at least 4:30 pm.  I will do my best to accommodate students (as space allows) to work in the studio during their own free period or study hall, with permission from their instructor.

Attendance: It is essential to be physically and mentally present EVERY DAY. Please  contact the school (and teachers via email is great) promptly regarding absence.  This is  especially imperative in the art class where TIME is what you need to be successful.  Students will be expected to make up all missed work and time.  Students make up time in OPEN STUDIO (see above). See also the “Missing Art Class” handout.

Behavior: It is the expectation that students will act in a manner permitting teachers to

teach and students to learn without interference or disruptions. It is the expectation that

the teacher will clearly communicate and reiterate expectations and consequences to

students as well as intervene in a timely manner with the support of family and

administration if necessary.  It is the hope that all students will have the opportunity to

be involved with the Visual Art studio as an independent and responsible young person.

I   ______________________   agree to utilize the open studio in order to get my work

completed with the time I need in order to work to the best of my ability. I agree to be

respectful and conscientious of materials and others. I have communicated with my

family/guardian about the Visual Art class I am taking.  If it is at all possible I have made

a lab fee donation to the Visual Art program at Lincoln High School during registration or

directly to the school bookkeeper.

Lab fee suggested donation $60.00 (YEAR) $30.00 (SEMESTER)  payable to LHS Bookkeeper

OR If you haven’t done so already go to the Lincoln Website and create a school pay account.

The DONATION includes: use of tools and consumable materials such as paper, paint, plaster, charcoal, rulers, glue etc…   As we are no longer allowed to “REQUIRE” that a lab fee is paid, our financial shortfall is considerable, we appreciate if your family is able to make a financial or in-kind donation to the Visual Art program, THANK YOU for your support and also thank you for helping keep our kids involved and loving the Arts!

REQUIRED SUPPLIES FOR ALL STUDENTS TAKING VISUAL ART:

Visual Arts Supply Kit LHS – cost is $20 (NOT same as a donation) kit contains all of the above personal items for sketching and artmaking. Purchasing the Visual Art Supply Kit will be cheaper than you can find these items on your own. You may purchase from Lincoln Website School Pay and pick up in class.

Higher level Visual Art Students:  It is important to develop an art making place at home and keep some basic supplies there for the student artist’s use. ALL students must have a “kit” with the above supplies.  In addition the most important is the Hardbound 8.5 x 11”sketchbook which should be purchased ASAP. Another important item is the means to transport artwork from home to school easily and without damage- do not buy something you are unwilling to use! Nothing needs to be brand new except the sketchbook

It would ALSO be really great to have these things:

DEADLINE DUE:    ________________=

Please bring in the listed supplies to school to be checked off. ASAP.

These supplies are at best a MINIMAL list of things that you, as a dedicated studio artist, need to own.  You will determine the media you explore in greater depth.  You will find that your preferences and pocketbook $ dictate which products you buy (or have), and your care and consumption of them.
