JOB DESCRIPTION: Quant Generalist, SAC MultiQuant (New York City)

Role/Responsibilities:

• The Analyst will rotate among a variety of technology-intensive support functions within the Multi-Quant trading group including general research, infrastructure, data roles.  
• These areas may include, but are not limited to:

 Low latency data and execution infrastructure

 Execution algorithm development

 Alpha signal analysis

 Risk analytics development

 Data cleaning and management

• Candidates who perform well over a 12-24 month period may be invited to join one of our portfolio management teams in a research and development capacity.

Requirements:

• This is a highly selective position. The ideal candidates will have a strong combination of software development skills, expertise in statistics, and finance background.
• An MS or PhD in finance, statistics, math, physics or computer science is strongly preferred along with 2 years of work experience.
• Development skills in C++, Java, Perl and MatLab/R are required and will be tested. Strong experience with SQL and database design is a plus.
• Our trading focuses on systematic trading in liquid instruments (to wit: global equities, futures and FX). Candidates with specific work experience or academic expertise in these areas will be strongly preferred.
