A seasoned publishing professional with broad-based editorial experience, Susan Schwartz was a senior book acquisitions and hands-on line editor for more than 28 years. Before launching her independent editorial consulting business in 1998, she held staff positions at Doubleday, Facts On File, Grolier, NTC/Contemporary Publishing Group, and other publishing houses.

Her full-service editorial skills in project analysis, management, and consultation, as well as editorial development and line editing, have earned her a reputation as "the editor who can turn promising projects into published books." For her individual authors, she has performed a variety of editorial tasks, including ghostwriting, proposal writing and analysis, manuscript line editing and analysis, and consulting. She recently completed editorial consultation on several memoirs, including Charting the Unknown, by Kim Petersen (2010) and Nothing to Fear, by Keith Mason (2009); several novels, including The Life O’Reilly, by Brian Cohen (2009), and the Clearwater Trilogy, by Suzanne Morris (2007); as well as Visual Culture and Evolution: A Symposium (2011), Women Empowering Themselves, by Babek and Colquhoun (2009), and Life Rules, by Ellen LaConte (2010).
