- Headmaster’s report
- HMI Visit – positive feedback, full report will be published on the 22nd May
- School Roll will be 1460 next year which will have an effect on staff numbers, retirement packages have also been offered which 6 staff are considering, they will also be two additional in-service days and resources for Curriculum for Excellence.
- Curriculum for Excellence Deep audit from the Scottish Government – The Authority Quality Inspectors will spend 15 mins with each principal teacher to obtain their opinions on the C of E.
- The school is in the last three of the Scottish Education Awards for the Enterprise and Employability across learning (Secondary)
- The U/15 football team is in the final of the Scottish Cup at Tynecastle, still 9 teams in various trophies
- Ryan Thompson has won the Scottish Schools Cross Country title, he will represent Scotland at the Sainsbury’s Games at the Olympic Stadium in May
- School won a public speaking competition
- A special school tie will be awarded if a pupil represents the school or wins anything in the authority or in Scotland.
- The school was involved with 3 trips over Easter which everyone enjoyed.

- School is getting a visit from Norwegians to look at models for setting up catholic schools in their country
- This is our Faith launch on the 25th April
- Caritas award is due – many pupils from the school involved.

- A letter was written and sent to the inspectors to thank them
- A letter was written to WDC about the traffic issues, a reply has been received and they are looking for some funding to address the issues
It was suggested that the Road Safety Officer should be asked to assess the risks
- Wrote to Stephen Ross and BAM with reference to the temperature issues and they have been invited to attend a Parent council meeting , possible the 23rd May
- Parent Council business cards will be at This Is Our Faith Launch.
- This is our Faith launch – the Parent Council has been asked to do a 25 minute slot, Tony then ran over the presentation for the launch.
Parents will be emailed to invite them to attend.
A discussion followed concerning the need for resources and support for the new curriculum.
- Purchase of track suits, vests and shorts
Alex Mackay gave details of what the PE department would like for running and other sports. The Parent council agreed to give a grant for £250 to buy vests and shorts. Also would look into asking parent forum for sponsor for track suits or looking at grants
- Alex Mackay gave details where he was with the event, it was agreed that the event would be the 8th June starting at the school at 6.00pm. Further details for the next meeting and look at doing posters and getting emails out
- 1st Assembly of Catholic Parent Councils
- Assembly aim is to get more parents involved, hear the view of parents
- An event at Carfin on the 25th August
- Need to have number by the 1st week of June, help is needed to organise event.
- Olaleni Dinner Dance on the 27th April , parents will be emailed
- Bank balance = £823.42 minus £200 donation to Chaplaincy Team for refreshments at the launch of This Is Our Faith
