A meeting of St Germans Parish Council will be held at the Royal British Legion at Tideford on 17 December 2012 at 7.30pm

(Planning Applications will be available from 7.00 pm)

1.        Police Report

            From 1.10.12 to 1.11.12 there were 2 crimes in St Germans – theft of a mobile

            phone from the Eliot Arms car park – theft of a BMX bike from Quay Road

            From 1.11.12 – 6.12.12 there was 1 crime in St Germans – theft from a motor

            vehicle in Newport but the items have since been found

5.1        St Germans

            A site meeting with Wicksteed has been arranged to look at the half round

            plastic log missing from the Multiplay


5.2        Tideford

            Port Eliot advised that the park side of the leylandii hedge can be trimmed

            back to the centre, leaving the outer side uncut. This should leave space for a

            beech hedge to be planted on the park side and a fence can be put in the place

            of the leylandii hedge when it comes down in the future.

            Port Eliot has confirmed that the trees parallel with their driveway can be

            taken down to 3m in height


6.        Burial Ground

6.1       Ugalde and Son made an application for a double depth grave for the burial of

            Terence John Henry Coombe deceased on 3.12.12. The clerk allocated Plot I5.

6.2       Our Solicitor will obtain a copy of the title deeds relating to the original burial


6.3       An enquiry has been received from Mr D Smith regarding the grave of Jessie

            Sarah Henrietta Nightingale who died in St Germans in 1952

10.        Planning Correspondence and Reports

10.1     Despite the Parish Council’s support of the planning application to provide 3

            live/work units at Polyne Garage, the Officer recommendation is to refuse the

            application. The clerk contacted the Chairman and confirmed our support and

            disappointment at the decision but did not ask for the application to be heard

            by Planning Committee. The Officer will speak to the applicant and try to

            agree an amended scheme

10.3     A Planning application has been submitted for the construction of solar

            photovoltaic park with attendant infrastructure at Trehawke Barton, Blunts,

            Liskeard (PA12/11024)

11.        Correspondence Received

11.1     Consultation on Cornwall Council’s Air Quality Action Plan – any comments

            should be made by 14.1.13 –

11.2     Reminder that Community Chest applications from St Germans Parish

            Council for hall heating must be made by mid December.

11.3     Pear technology offering their digital mapping to include burial ground


11.4     The Ramblers Caradon Group expressing concern about solar farms in


11.5     A388 Saltash to Callington junction improvements – now online for

            comments. ( Cllr D Holley thinks the improvements seem sensible, as does the

            Road Safety Project Co-ordinator)

11.6     Wind Turbines in Quethiock Parish – Cllr Sullivan has posted the wind turbine

            letter on our website as requested (this was on the November agenda)

11.7     Floods: Help and Assistance – Emergency Fund for flood victims – Church

            Road, Tideford and Polbathic Motors and Sunnside Car Sales in Polbathic

            were reported as badly affected
