Initial Reactions

  • “I can’t believe they pulled it off!”

  • “AWESOME!”

  • “I was a little worried with the names in the film and thought it was going to be ‘He’s Just Not into You’ with super powers.”

Standout Moments or Characters

  • Noob: Mark Ruffalo as Banner was better than Eric Bana and Edward Norton combined.
  • Noob: Scarlett Johansson was really fleshed out nicely and I was really pulling for her - pardon the pun.
  • Noob: Renner seemed a bit out of place. It felt like they were making time for him.
  • Noob: Hulk was the standout character in this movie.
  • Glenn: Banner reveals he is always angry and transformers was on purpose.
  • Glenn: Captain America was just … cool!
  • Noob: Each character got their own special moments
  • Glenn: Thor and Hulk tender moment.
  • X: Too much Ultimates not enough 616 Avengers.
  • X: Classic “Let’s fight first and then we’ll be friends” type feeling from the comics.
  • X: S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents were bringing the heat. Coulson and Hill matter!

Movie Experience

  • X saw the film as a double bill in a drive in with the Avengers and John Carter
  • Sound at the drive-in had a strange buzzing noise.
  • Glenn had a good experience except for muted sound and the noisy families
  • Shut the kids up!
  • We here at Alt3red Egos love kids as they are the future of comic fans, BUT either teach them right or see the Matinee!
  • Noob saw the movie from a throne - theater that even had wait service and upscale concessions. “Your Perrier Mr. Noob.”

Geek Nirvana

  • S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier
  • Thor vs. Hulk, Cap vs Iron Man, Black Widow doing Black Widow stuff
  • 30-minute long fight scene was well done and never felt too long.
  • Bravo to the CGI group and it did not take it out.
  • Hulk Vs. Loki (Puny God)
  • Cap gives the classic “Hulk Smash” line.
  • Joss Whedon putting in his actors from the Whedonverse in the movie
  • Enver Gjokaj as younger cop
  • Ashley Johnson as “Waitress”
  • Alexis Denisof as “the other”
  •  Chris Hemsworth & Jeremy Renner both count have both been in Joss Whedon vehicles
  • DC is missing the boat by not having a Justice League Movie
  • There was a JLA movie in pre production but nothing happened.
  • Noob felt that Flash, Martian Manhunter but Wonder Woman apparently doesn’t have any live action cred.

Where does this movie rank among other comic movies

  • Glenn: 1 - Superman, 2 - The Avengers & 3 - Batman: the Dark Night
  • Noob: 1a - The Avengers, 1b - Batman: the Dark Knight & 2 - Superman
  • X: 1 - Tank Girl, 2 - Batman: the Dark Knight & 3 - The Avengers

Easter Eggs

  • Thanos! Enough said!
  • Originally Glenn thought the Red Skull was going to be behind all this and then after the reveal, popped his pants.
  • and the introduction of the Cuban’s Thanosian Complex
  • Perhaps Avengers 2 villian?

Final Thoughts

It is not the GodFather, but then again nothing else is.

Great movie and you can take the kids to it.

Marvel did itself and its fans a great service with this movie and have extended their run by about 4 more movies
