NёrdCamp (IT Industry Open Coworking/Colearning)

Students, engineers, scientists and professors, analysts, managers, directors and entrepreneurs came together to discuss some urgent topics related to the industry of information technologies. They spent 3 days working in workshops groups and participating in various lectures during the NёrdCamp which took place in a holiday house Vostok-6 (Leningrad region) on 22-24 April, 2011.  

The main goal of the event was to provide opportunity for young specialists and experienced professionals to work together in informal atmosphere that could result in a good networking, new projects ideas, improving personal and professional skills and extending ties between academic and business circles at all.

As a result we got 39 participants, 20 hours of co-located events, 2 movies, 1 concert by Chekers and nonstop networking.

39 participants included students from St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University, National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, European University at St. Petersburg and other universities as well as leading representatives of Yandex, 2Nova, Exigen Services, Indeed-Id, AlphaSense Oy, The U.S. Russia Center for Entrepreneurship, Algorithmic Biology Lab, and etc.

20 hours of co-located events included next topics:

• Sociology and Economy of IT
• How the Web will Transform Education
• How IT changes Companies Operations.
• Customer Development and Design Thinking for Technology Startups
• Out-of-town Coworking and Colearning. City-like environments without a city
• Talks about technologies (Cloud and SaaS, No SQL Databases, Hot Programming Languages, etc.)
