Please be aware of safety while traveling in Costa Rica. Do not accept rides from strangers or taxis that have not been arranged by your hotel staff. It is not advised to give assistance to those with apparent car trouble or the like, but instead inform local authorities. Instead of donating directly to beggars, donate to established, credible charitable organizations within Costa Rica that assist those in need.

Here are answers to some of the common questions:

Do I need any vaccinations in order to enter Costa Rica?

Citizens of the US and Canada are not required to have special vaccines to enter the country of Costa Rica. However, you should talk to your primary health care provider if there are any specific health concerns you may have. Malaria and dengue are present in Costa Rica, and although risk of infection is rare in US citizens, it is important to be aware of such risk and avoid exposure to mosquitoes.

I’m thinking of registering for this retreat, but would be coming solo. Would this still be enjoyable even though I don’t know any of the other retreat attendees?

ABSOLUTELY! In fact, some of our best experiences with yoga retreats are when we open to the possibility of meeting new yogis from around the world. You will have plenty of time to socialize over meals and during outings/free time. We also encourage using this time for some personal reflection, a time to spend getting to know yourself at a deeper level. Your presenters will be with you every step of the way, and those who travel solo will have ample support the entire trip!
