Blog Evaluation Criteria

  1. Love and Loneliness post heading
  2. Embed 2 theme-related images on blog representing love and loneliness (2 marks)
  3. From two different poems in the book, take one love poem line and one loneliness poem line. Use these two borrowed lines in a new poem you will write on your blog called Love and Loneliness. Underline the borrowed lines. Include a note below your poem that cites the original poem/poet for each line.
  4. Your new poem should be at least 10 lines (any form). (8 marks)

  1. War and Hope post heading
  2. Create two title hyperlinks on your blog to one of the poems in the book about war and one about hope (you will have to search online). (2 marks)
  3. Write a paragraph explaining which of these two poems you think is most relevant today. (6 marks)
  4. Embed a video that relates to one or both of these themes. (2 marks)

     Class 2

  1. People and Places post heading
  2. On your blog, paste or type out one of the poems you like best in this part of the book. Customize this poem by adding at least 3 new visual features (embedded imagery, definition links, font styles and colour). (6 marks)
  3. Create a biographical hyperlink to the author’s name at the end of the poem. (2 marks)
  4. Create a place / image hyperlink from the author’s nationality to a place where he/she lived. (2 marks)

  1. Nature and Invention post heading
  2. Embed one image that represents nature and one image for invention. (2 marks)
  3. Use Google Docs Drawing to illustrate a poem that you like in this section. Type or paste the poem onto the Drawing application. Use a combination of images and drawing features to illustrate the poem. (6 marks)
  4. Embed your Google Docs Drawing onto your blog. (2 marks)
