Japan vs. Belize

Japan

Belize

Compare

Contrast

Environmental Damage

3/10

5/10

Their lands and soils are severely damaged and can’t be fixed in a day. It take years to repair the environment.

Japan was recently hit with a tsunami.

Belize suffering from deforestation.

Climate change

4/10

4/10

Both places have been having unstable climate changes lately that has effected both their environment greatly.

Japan’s climate has been unstable with the dryness and heat, but also man made activities from factories.

Belize has been suffering from lots and lots of hurricanes around their area, more than it used to be.

Hostile neighbors

8/10

They are friendly with their neighbors because they neighbors are their trade partners.

Japan is friendly with almost all their neighbors BESIDES North Korea because they have been abducting Japanese citizens and saying that each one died, without providing proof.

Belize’s neighbors are their friendly trading partners, so they don’t have a problem with their neighbors.

Friendly trade partners

6/10

7/10

They are both friendly trade partners with America and China.

Japan’s friendly trade partners is mainly around their continent, Asia. Also because of Japan’s situation, exports to other countries will be risky to other countries, but their partners are still importing good to Japan to feed the citizens.

Belize’s friendly trade partners is mainly around their area also, America.

Society's Response

4/10

8/10

Nothing seem noticeable between the two for now.

Japan is trying to deal with their citizens first before thinking about fixing anything up. They are thinking about the safety of their citizens while also stopping the nuclear reactors.

Belize is working on replanting plants and trees and also getting children interested with the planting and what it means.

Overall

5/10

6.8/10

Both their environment are severely

damaged but their trade partners are still willing to help each other.

Japan is going through an emergency crisis right now and imports and exports will cause risk to other environments that accepts their goods, so their ranking is really low.

Belize is not having a problem as bad as Japan, but their environment is still suffering.
