ASSIGNMENTS

All assignments can be found on the instructional blog, http://mindyholder.blogspot.com.

You should check this blog daily for any new information pertaining to the class and/or changes to an assignment.  

  1. Open your web browser (Firefox or Internet Explorer)
  2. In the URL address line, type mindyholder.blogspot.com (there are no www’s)
  3. After the page has loaded, look to the right hand side of the screen for the title Mindy’s Classes
  4. Under that title you will find your class, select it
  5. Now you will be taken to the page for your class assignments

Communication

Campus email (we will go over the new campus gmail in class); texting; Facebook

Attendance

Attendance will be kept daily. However, attendance will not affect your grade.

If you are late to class, please come in without disturbing others.

If you know you are going to be gone, please email me.

Remember that you can find you assignment on the class blog.

Academic Honesty

If you haven’t read the Academic Honor Code and Cheating Policy, please do so on page 35 of the student handbook.

The first instance of cheating in this class will result as a ‘0’ on the assignment. The second offense will be reported to the Dean of Instruction and Dean of Students and the student will receive an F for the course.

Withdrawal from Class

It is your responsibility to drop.

Computer Usage Guidelines

You agreed to these guidelines when you enrolled. Check the SCCC website to review.

Services for Students with Disabilities

If you have any kind of disability that will prevent you from being successful in this class, please notify myself or the Dean of Students. This policy can be read in the Student Handbook.

Misc.

Cell phones must be in silent or vibrate mode. They are not to be used during class.

No tobacco products will be used in the classroom.

Drinks with lids are allowed.  NO FOOD.

MP3 players, etc. may be used with headphones if we are doing lab work. Please remember to not disturb others.

HOW TO

Logging in to Computers:

  1. Your login will be your first name, a period, and your last name, with no spaces or capital letters (for example, mindy.holder )
  2. You should have already set up your password

FIRST TIME USERS WHO HAVE NEVER LOGGED IN OR SET UP PASSWORD would use the following:

  1. User Name:
    firstname.lastname@sccc.edu

     Password:
    SCCC@800XXXXXX

If you have problems logging in, take your student ID to the library.  They should be able to help you.

Logging in to Campus Portal:

  1. Open browser
  2. Go to www.sccc.edu 
  3. Click on MyCampus in the top right corner
  4. Enter your user name and password (same as logging in to computer)

Checking Campus Email:

  1. Once in the campus portal, click on Outlook Web (it might say campus gmail?)

Logging in to eCollege:

  1. The first time you log in to eCollege you must set up your account – so you won’t have to log in each time.
  2. Click on the Home tab
  3. Click on eCollege LMS under the Services section
  4. Type in your user name (firstname.lastname)
  5. Type in your password which is your birthdate – month, two digits; date, two digits; year, two digits.  For example, January 1, 1970 would be typed 010170.
  6. Now your eCollege account should be ready to go
  7. Click on eCollege logo
  8. Once the page loads, click on the Academics tab and you should see a list of any courses that use eCollege
