I  baked these delicious Lemon Poppy Seed Cut Out Cookies using Sweet Sugar Belle’s Recipe

 *Preheat oven to 400°

1 cup salted butter

1 ½ cups powdered sugar

1 egg

2 teaspoon lemon baker’s emulsion 

1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste

2 ¾-3 cups all purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoon poppy seeds

Cream together butter and powdered sugar.  Add to this the egg and flavorings.  Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.  Mix until the dough forms a ball.  Roll out on floured surface and cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 400° for 7-9 minutes.

*The only change I made was I didn’t have lemon bakers emulsion, I used lemon extract.

I iced them with a Lemon Glaze Icing: 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp corn syrup, 2-3 Tbsp water, 1 tsp. lemon extract, yellow food coloring (i used Americolor egg yellow) I piped the icing on with a #3 tip.

I made the same cookie dough for the “Princess Cookies” but used 2 teaspoons LoRann’s Princess Bakers Emulsion and added a teaspoon of the emulsion to the icing.
