How to Use this Plan

  1. Make sure you have all the ingredients in the “Pantry” column.
  2. Buy the items on the grocery store list below.
  3. Cook the meals in an order to use the produce before it goes bad. I did not order the meals (at least not yet) so don’t cook them in the order I put!!!
  4. Refer to the “Dividing the Ingredients” list to make sure me you don’t use too much of one ingredient if it’ll be needed in a recipe later, or to see if the leftovers of an ingredient can be used as a side dish (i.e., if it won’t be used later).

Grocery store list: 

Yield: 31 dinners to feed my family of 4 (no teenagers, and we eat healthy-sized meals rather than hearty ones).  Not enough for 4 adults, generally, but enough for a young family.

Nutritive Goals: we generally tend away from pre-processed foods or ingredients (although I’m not throwing them out, either), and try to have veggies at every meal.  Goals are keeping things frugal and simple--as I mentioned, life with two toddlers and a baby popping in at some point this month doesn’t leave much time for elaborate meals.  Nothing on here takes much time to prepare.
