Dear All,

I take this opportunity to present to you the Financial Report of Jaagriti for the FY 2010-2011. As Jaagriti had started functioning as an independent organisation since April 2011, we faced many challenges in raising funds to sustain our initiatives. But thanks to the hard work and consistent efforts of Jaagriti volunteers and the support provided by AID Delhi and Evalueserve (EVS), we were able to raise good funds in the FY 2010-11. The details are as follows:

Funds Raised

We raised a total of Rs. 1,77,685 during the year from various sources, which included corporate donations (by Evalueserve), Volunteer Meal a Month, one time donations and merchandise selling. Following is the breakup:

Apart from above, the Carry Forward from FY 2009-10 was Rs. 18,135 and interest of Rs. 115 was received from bank on our savings.

So, total incoming funds in FY 2010-11 were Rs. 1,95,820.

-  Evalueserve (our Corporate Donor) provided us with funds of Rs. 1,05,600 through AID Delhi.

-   One time donations were collected by Jaagriti volunteers through fund raising drives among their friends, relatives and colleagues.

-   Merchandise selling included selling of Jaagriti cards and chocolates. We sold around 800+ cards for Rs. 14,160 and raised Rs. 3,500 by selling chocolates.

-  Our fundraising from Volunteer Meals a Month has improved compared to previous FY. We raised Rs. 14,800 under the MaM program from volunteers, friends and well wishers.

Expenditure

The expenditure during the FY was Rs. 1,68,736 as per the following breakup:

 -      In Education, our expenditure (70%) was on teachers monthly salaries, classroom rents, stationary, books, classroom infrastructure and school admission.

-      In Health and Nutrition, our expenditure (21%) was on the food provided to the children twice a week during classes and on food/refreshments arrangements during various festival celebrations and picnics throughout the year.

-      While in Skill Building (6%) our expenditure was on celebrating various events/occasions, arts and crafts classes, theater workshop and other competitions.

-      We spent Rs. 5,135 (3% of total expenses) on printing 800 greeting cards for fund raising. We successfully sold all the cards and in this FY we plan to sell over 2500 cards.

-        An amount of Rs. 200 was spent on printing Jaagriti stamp, required for putting on certificates and other official documents.

Balance Amount with Jaagriti (as on 31st March 2011): Rs. 27,084

Jaagriti thanks all it donors, volunteers, associates and well wishers for their constant support and guidance. We look forward to continuing working with you in future which much more enthusiasm, dedication and outreach.
