- Whole Group: Name any amount from 1cent to 12 cents and have children show the amount.

- Small Group: Play storekeeper and customers. Have children use their money to purchase items.

Children will use pennies to add and subtract.

- Observe if children can show the sequence of adding and subtracting.

Whole Group: Write addition and subtraction facts on the board and tell a number story. Have volunteers relate the joining and separating action to the correct addition and subtraction sentence and tell how many in all and how many are left.
