Hot Tubs, 2010, silkscreen on foam, variable dimensions.

A hot tub spa is an ergonomically designed socially charged and mass produced Leisure apparatus. These sculptures depict a space that places the body into a form that is considered “good” for that body. This space is meant to help or facilitate a comfortable social space for the owner.

Hot Tubs attempt to draw a link from ergonomic leisure and comfort to the softest forms of paternalism and ask questions about social balance and control through architectural forms.

Hot Tubs act as cushion forms that are capable of facilitating social interaction and or awkwardness and social tension.
