Victoria came to stay with us for a month, 24/5, from the day our twin boys came home from hospital.  A calm descended the moment she arrived. She is easy to get on with and a pleasure to have around.  It was a relief that there was someone who knew what needed to be done and a plan for how the days could be organised.

She took charge of the nights including feeding and settling them.  It is almost entirely credit to Victoria that by week 7, both boys were sleeping through from 11pm to 7am.  This would probably have happened sooner if they hadn’t both got a chest infection at week 5 which set them back a bit.

She devised a routine for us that not only made us feel in control of the babies but also factored in our 3 year old daughter’s current routine.  This meant that I could still take my little girl to, and collect her from, pre-school without interrupting the feeds.  This routine evolved from breastfeeding to bottle feeding.  It was my wish to breast feed for 4 weeks and she helped me to gradually scale it down over the last 2 weeks.  She also kept asking me during this time if I was sure I was happy so that I didn’t stop and then regret it.  I was sure of what I wanted but really appreciated that she kept checking with me in case I had changed my mind.

She was great with my daughter and was good with getting her involved in looking after them.  Her being there also meant that I could take time out just to be with my daughter so that she didn’t feel that the boys were taking up all of mummy’s time.

In short, I really don’t know how we would have managed without her and would highly recommend her.  When I was pregnant with the twins I never dreamed I would be getting a decent night’s sleep in the fist 7 months let alone the first 7 weeks!  They are very content boys who seem to be very happy to have a routine and I am sure that it is Victoria’s discipline in establishing the routine that has given us all such a good start together.
