The World Mission Society Church of God’s Calendar Errors
The World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) says, “Salvation is given only to the people who keep the feasts” (from Salvation Is Given to Those Who Celebrate the Feasts: english.watv.org/truth/sermon/content.asp?idx=1110). According to the WMSCOG, you MUST keep all the feasts of God absolutely correctly (along with many other requirements) in order to be saved and go to heaven. And they say the only church that follows all these feasts absolutely correctly is the WMSCOG, founded by Ahnsahnghong (Ahn Sahng-hong) and currently lead by the “Heavenly Jerusalem Mother God” (Zang Gil-jah) and chief pastor Kim Joo-cheol.
But does the WMSCOG keep the feasts of God correctly? No, they do not consistently follow the calendar of God as they claim.
To see this we do not need to compare them to other groups who also celebrate the feasts of God, such as the Jewish people. Nor do we need to argue about when to start the new year or how to calculate the day of Pentecost, as the Rabbinic and Karaite Jews also disagree on that. Nor do we need to bicker about a day or two difference, perhaps because of a new moon calculation variation. No, we need only compare them to themselves and their own standard for keeping the feasts--the Bible.
The WMSCOG is sometimes a WHOLE MONTH WRONG in their dates for the fall feasts. You can look up the data and see this for yourself. It is compiled here for your convenience, but everything is available for you to research yourself.
To start, we need to know some basic facts about the “Sacred Calendar” (as the WMSCOG calls it):
In the following charts:
Notice in the charts, sometimes the WMSCOG keeps the seventh month feasts in the seventh month, but sometimes the seventh month feasts are kept in the eighth month (in 2005, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2021). There is no valid explanation for this except that the WMSCOG is in error with their own teachings and CANNOT be the one and only true church, supposedly headed by “Mother God” herself in the flesh.
