Game Maker Platform Assignment

This will serve as your final Game Maker assignment before we move into your major game design project.  You will have approximately 2 class periods to work on this assignment and, in the process, review and shore up your Game Maker skills.

The overall complexity is up to you but you must have the following objects:

• a good guy
• 2 types of bad guys
• a platform
• a next level marker
• a  wall or walls to surround the outside of the room
• Optional: ladders and springs

Your game must also have:

• 2 or more levels (rooms).  You reach the second level by finding the Next Level Marker in the first room
• 3 lives.  You lose a life when you collide with a bad guy
• Optional: Using views

How to Proceed

If you think you are ready to create a platform type game on your own, you can just go ahead and do it.  Feel free to ask for help when you need it.

If you do not think you currently have the skills, you can follow through a set of tutorials from the link below.  The tutorials will cover most but not all of the required skills.  The suggested tutorials are:

• Platform Movement
• Double Jump
• Ladders (optional)
• Springs (optional)
• Lives (if you need the review)
