Compatible Phones

Any VoIP phone that supports the SIP protocol can be configured to work with a Jazinga phone system. SIP is an industry standard VoIP protocol, and is supported by most phones from most manufacturers. For information on which protocols a specific phone supports, please refer to that phone’s user manual. Certain makes and models of phones will be detected by Jazinga phone systems and automatically configured for use. This means that all required settings on these phones are set automatically, and manual configuration on the phones themselves is not required. Other phones that support the SIP protocol are supported, but may require manual configuration of the phone. Phones that do not support the SIP protocol are not supported by Jazinga Cloud. For more information on the automatic provisioning process, please see the Jazinga Cloud User Manual at jazinga.com/support/docs.

The table below lists major makes and models of phones alongside each model’s compatibility with Jazinga Cloud.

Legend

Supported with full auto provisioning

Fully supported makes and models of phones have a green checkmark in Status column. These phones will be automatically detected by Jazinga Cloud, and can be assigned to a particular person or team with a few clicks.

Supported with manual provisioning

Manually supported makes and models of phones have a yellow checkmark in the Status column. These phones will work with your Jazinga cloud appliance, but you will need to manually configure the phone by providing it with the hostname or IP address of your appliance, as well as with the username and password of a generic SIP device you have created in Jazinga Cloud.

Not supported

Unsupported makes and models of phones have a red X in the Status column. These phones do not support the SIP protocol, and can therefore not be configured to work with Jazinga Cloud.

Jazinga phone systems support SIP-based softphone apps on any mobile platform. For platform-specific information, please see the sections below.

iOS

The Jazinga iOS app is compatible with any iPhone, iPod, or iPad running iOS 5 or later. This is the recommended app for integrating an iOS device with a Jazinga phone system. Please search for “Jazinga” in the Apple App Store, or visit jazinga.com/download/ios from any PC or Mac with iTunes installed to install the Jazinga iOS app. For more information on the Jazinga iOS app, please see the Jazinga Cloud User Manual at jazinga.com/support/docs.

Alternatively, any iOS softphone app that supports the SIP protocol can be manually configured to work with a Jazinga phone system. Note that certain features (such as voicemail greeting recording), may not be available on third party iOS apps, and that third party iOS apps will require manual configuration to work with Jazinga Cloud.

Android

The Jazinga Android app is compatible with any Android mobile phone or tablet running Android 2.3 “Gingerbread”  or later. This is the recommended app for integrating an Android device with a Jazinga phone system. Please search for “Jazinga” in the Google Play store, or visit jazinga.com/download/android from any PC or Mac to install the Jazinga Android app. For more information on the Jazinga iOS app, please see the Jazinga Cloud User Manual at jazinga.com/support/docs.

Mobile Phones

Any mobile phone can be integrated into a Jazinga phone system without the use of additional apps. A phone may be configured to act as an external extension, where that mobile phone is rung whenever someone attempts to reach a particular team of people (for example, a remote sales employee may have their mobile phone rung when someone dials the extension for the sales team). Any make or model of mobile phone can be integrated into a Jazinga phone system in this fashion. For information on integrating a mobile phone number into a Jazinga phone system, please see the Jazinga Cloud User Manual at jazinga.com/support/docs.
