IMPORTANT! NOTE FROM MS ROSE
Holmes Elementary School
Remnant journal:
End of summer project
Create a journal out of a notebook with smells, sounds, pictures or items that will remind you of fun events you did this summer. Below the item dictate or write a description of what you did and why you liked or disliked this event.
Bring your journal the first week of school to help you remember what you did, and share this with your peers and teachers!
Continuing this project…..
Several people have continued to use the remnant journal throughout the school year as a writing assignment, and then shared their journal during resource time or morning meeting time.
See “Creating & Using Remnant Books for Face-to-Face Communication and Self-Selected Writing” (complied by Hanser, 2004) for additional resources and ideas.
