Welcome to Milton Outdoor Bowls Club

Milton Outdoor Bowls Club (MOBC)  is located at Coles Road recreation ground, Milton; a village just north of the university city of Cambridge. MOBC was founded in 1990 and has a membership of more than 50 players.

MOBC welcomes all ages and abilities from beginners through to those who have played the game for many years.

Looking for a new sport?  Bowls is a sport that all the family can play from your 10 year old to Grandad and Grandma. It can be as competitive as you like and you don't need to be an athlete to take part and be a winner.

Want to have a try? Contact the club secretary Jim Daniels 01223 502194 or mob: 07952 536477 to arrange a mutually agreeable time/date. NOTE for beginners: To avoid damage to the bowls green you will need to wear flat soled shoes/trainers so please remember to bring them with you.

Want to join the club?  Contact Jim Daniels by phone as above or email secretary@mobc.org.uk . Full year membership is currently £50 and represents outstanding value.  We also have a social membership option for £10 per year.  This entitles you to play on the green throughout the season but not in league teams and competitions.

Sessions for youngsters: If you would like to try the game with your friends please contact Bob Norman 01223 860917  mob: 07780 666835.

Club teams and competitions: We have plenty of league involvement with  teams in the Cambridge & District League, Ely and District League, and the BH Pairs League. There is also a range of internal  club competitions.

Our clubhouse is attached to the Milton Parish Council office, has wheelchair access and is used as the venue for Parish Council meetings.

Our green is kept in tip top condition by a band of volunteers.

The Bowls Season: Outdoor bowls is a summer sport and the season runs from late April until the end of September.

Activities during the season:  In addition to the league games and internal competitions there are many other social and bowling events. These include some friendly matches and our finals weekend at the end of August which normally includes a barbecue.

Out of season activities: These include fund raising activities such as a quiz night, whist drives,100 Club and an occasional concert.  An annual lunch is held in October.

Many of our members get their bowls fix over the winter months playing Indoor bowls at Chesterton IBC, playing Carpet Bowls and short mat bowls at the Community Centre.  The club has a team in the Chesterton Indoor / Outdoor League.
