Q- what is Protestantism ?

Ans.- It is a religion that is diverged from the roman catholics.

Q- when did it diverge?

Ans- Protestant evolved out of the reformation period in the early 16th century. the 2 major contributors for the reformation are

1- Martin Luther ( 1483-1546)

2- John Calvin ( 1509-1564)

martin luther said that the roman catholic church was corrupt and that is should be reformed.

Q-Why did it come about?

Ans.- the ideas behind the protestant reformation were simple. The church should be changed or reformed so that it was less greedy, fairer and accessible to all people not just the rich and well educated.

unique features-

These denominations developed unique Christian traditions out of the theology of their founders.

Protestants believe in the transcendence of God.

Protestantism is less liturgical and sacramental than Catholicism.

Protestantism places more emphasis on preaching the word of Jesus.

everyone should be allowed to read the bible and not just the priest.
