1. Adoption of Minutes of last meetings

The LWG last met October 25th.

2. MATTERS ARISING (open action items from previous meetings)

  • Grant - Get a license and attribution page link as an XML Comment into these APIs: Rails API. (patch done but not live)
  • Mike -  combine Bing Imagery License comments as a succinct list for forwarding to Microsoft legal.
  • Mike - Incorporate into foundation landing page
  • Mike - a number of folk targeted by the mailing have asked questions that the LWG needs to deal with.
  • Action - Grant - Ask if it feasible - Add a tag to a user's user page indicating license acceptance status.
  • Mike - Provide text to Grant re and friends in Sept 20th minutes
  • Richard - Second emailing (Sept 20 minutes) - start drafting
  • Richard - 28 Obsolete .yu addresses (Sept 20 minutes) - draft a careful email with privacy in mind.
  • Richard - Deceased contributors (Sept 20 minutes) ask counsel: Are there any grounds for publishing their contributions under ODbL without contacting their estate for permission? (in progress)
  • Grant and Richard will talk to talk-au (done)
  • Mike Recruit a core volunteer technical team to help out with database rebuild (Oct 25 minutes)
  • Dermot and Richard will contact four people we have identified for per change-set CT acceptance (Oct 25 minutes).

Richard emailed talk-au to confirm that were satisfied with . Negative sentiments from the expected people.

While the suburb dataset can now continue to be used, the contributor account under which it was imported under is controlled by Franc who has declined the new terms. It is also out of date.  It can be removed and replaced with . The LWG would prefer that this is done by the Australian community.  Franc has kindly provided the original Perl importing script or it can be done with ogr2osm.

Draft email to send to potential addresses of .yu-address account holders.

This is intended for a small group of accounts that currently list an unreachable .yu address.

The plan is to send locallized versions, to German-speaking users first, then other languages as suitable. This will need translating.

Dynamic data is data that changes, e.g. traffic congestion, and may be generated by a third party but linked to specific points or ways using OSM data. What are the licensing considerations? We will look at this in greater detail at a future meeting but a potential general starting point is:
