Conclusion Paragraph
It’s at times like these when you realize how important friends and family are at a time of crisis. I was extremely glad that Laura was there for me during the surgery, which turned out to be a little more complex than the doctors had originally thought. I was also glad my family was right there with me for the three days of recovery in the hospital afterwards, and for weeks after that when I couldn’t lift anything over 20 pounds. Although my girlfriend and I broke up a few weeks after the surgery, she was there for me then, and that was really important to me. We all have tough times in our lives, and it is always comforting to know that some has your back when you need it most.
In the first part of the conclusion, you reword your thesis….my original thesis was… “I learned from this was how important it is for me to have people I care about around me when I go through tough times like this one.” So, I put it into different words!
The second part of the conclusion just wraps things up. I told the reader what happened after my exploded moment. I briefly told them what happened to the girlfriend, and what happened to me after the surgery.
The third part of the conclusion is the hardest part. It tries to tell the reader why your life lesson is important to them. It answers their question of “so what, why should I care?” I tried to relate my experience to them, since we all have tough times in our lives.
