TWO SEATS OF JUDGEMENT

The Bible teaches that  each person has an appointment before God for the life that they lived upon the earth. Each person has an appointment with death just as each person had an appointed day to be born.

Hebrews  9:27 “ And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

The Bible is the Word of God and God’s word clearly reveals what happens after a person dies.  God does not want anyone to be ignorant or to live their lives based upon fantasy teachings.  God is a loving, merciful and righteous God, and He is a righteous judge.  He has revealed in the Word of God, how one is to live before Him, and His wonderful plan of forgiveness for our sins and salvation through His son Jesus Christ.

He has also revealed in the Bible how each man will give an account for the life they lived upon the earth.  God is so good.  He does not leave us to guess, but He reveals the path of life, so that all may choose to serve Him through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible teaches that there are two seats of judgments which God will minister justice to each soul for the life they have lived.  They are “The Judgment Seat of Christ”  and “The Great White Throne of Judgment”. The Bible makes it very clear concerning who will stand before “The Judgment Seat of Christ”  and who will stand before “The Great White Throne of Judgment”.

 The Judgment Seat of Christ”

Jesus is the one who presides over this seat of Judgment.  This is the seat of judgment where the born again believer will stand before Jesus Christ.  Those who have chosen to respond to God’s love and mercy by completely surrendering their life  to God by turning away from sin to serving God will come before this seat.

Romans 14:10-11”But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.   For it is written: "As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God." So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.”

Christ Jesus is the one who will judge those who have surrendered their lives to Him.  When a person responds to God’s love and forgiveness and surrenders their life to Jesus Christ to be born-again, all of their sins, their past, their evil doings are totally forgiven by God never to be remembered.   The bible states:

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Romans 6:22-23 “But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

When we have surrender our lives to God and received forgiveness of our sins we are now born again.  We are fully restored to God and empowered by the Holy Spirit who lives in us leading and guiding us into all truth.  Because we are born again and Holy Spirit now lives in us empowering us to live holy lives, we are expected by God to live for the purposes that God created us and represent Him on the earth.

Ephesians 5:8-16 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light  (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),  finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”

When we have been born-again, God expects us to live our life totally for His purposes.  God expects us to obey but He never forces us to obey, He has given mankind a will to choose to serve Him or not to serve Him.

Luke 6:46-47 “"But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do the things which I say?”

Jesus will sit upon the Judgment seat of Christ and reward those who are His for their faithfulness in serving Him.  If you are born again you belong to God your life is not your own.

1 Peter 1:13-19 “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."  And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear;  knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

The born again believer will have to give an account to Jesus for His life.  He will not give an account for His sins because they are forgiven, unless they have sins they have not confessed  to God, but He will give an account for how He lived and represented God as a born again believer (christian).

At the judgment seat of Christ the born again believer (christian) will receive His inheritance if He has lived according to the purposes of God.

1 Peter 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,  who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

2 Corinthians 5:9-11 “Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.”

Yes, every believer in Christ Jesus will stand and give an account to our Saviour Jesus for the precious gift of life He has given to us.  We are forgiven and cleansed of our sins but with the gift of salvation we have been redeemed to live for the purposes we were created to live.   Our lives belong to Jesus and we must live and serve Jesus and not ourselves.

Ephesians 5:1-7 “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.  Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.  For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person — such a man is an idolater — has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.

In the book of Ephesians in the Bible, we are clearly told we are to live a life imitating God.  If after we are born again, we continue to live a life following the way of sin and darkness or walk backwards we are clearly warned that we will receive no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.  In the book of Revelations 7:17 and 21:4 the Bible states that God will wipe away the tears from the eyes of his people.  Have you ever wondered why God will wipe away the tears from the eyes of those who are now with Him eternally?  Could it be that many who have been born again will weep when they see the wonderful inheritance the Lord had for them and how though they have made it into heaven they have no inheritance because they were lived their lives as believers for their own purposes and not wholehearilly for God?

The Great White Throne of Judgment

This throne is set for everyone who names are not written in the Lambs book of Life. God will judge those who reject Jesus as being God and reject His free gift of salvation. Every person who denied Jesus Christ  will be judged and will receive the full punishment for every evil deed they have committed.  The fruit of sin can continue to produce a harvest from one generation to another.  When a person refuses to receive the gift of salvation and forgiveness through Jesus Christ they are doomed to eternal life without God.  The Bible call this place hell.  When a person dies without Christ they immediately enter hell.  It is not until the end of time that God will render them the judgment for their sins.  Why? Because God is righteous and a person sins continue to effect one generation to another.  The sinner must receive the full judgement for their sins. There is no middle holding place, when you die you are either immediately in the presence of God to live with Him forever or you immediately go to hell till the day of judgment before the Great White Throne of Judgment.

Revelation 20:11-15 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which  were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not  found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Which judgment seat will you stand before if you were to die today?

When a person turns to God and calls upon Jesus asking for forgiveness of their sins and surrending their lives to him they are born again and their names are written in His book, “The Lambs Book of Life.”  Only those who have surrendered to Christ Jesus and become born again have their names recorded in the Lambs book of life.

Do not be deceived there is an after life.  The Bible is very clear it is appointed for man to die and then the judgment.  Where will you stand?

Will it be before the judgment seat of “The Great White Throne Of God” where you will be held accountable for every sin and trespass you have ever committed in your life?  The judgment for this throne is already  set...hell and eternal damnation...because when the opportunity was given to receive God’s mercy and forgiveness through His Son Jesus Christ and to receive God plan for redemption you choice your own plan and ran your life on your own. Or will you stand before the Lord Jesus Christ at the judgment seat of Christ to receive your rewards for the life you lived serving him?

John 3:16-21 “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world “through Him” might be saved.  "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.  But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."

Jesus said:

Matthew 16:24-26 “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.  For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Do you know your end?

Psalm 39:4-5 "LORD, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am.  Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor.

God loves you so very much but you have to choose whether you want to live for yourself and live alinated from God or humble yourself and surrender to God and His purpose for your life by repenting of your sins and choosing to follow Jesus.

Jesus said in John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

PRAYER TO SURRENDER TO GOD AND BECOME BORN AGAIN:

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that you are God and you died on the cross that I might be fully restored and forgiven by the price you paid for my sins by dying on the cross for me.  I acknowledge that I have done evil and I need your forgiveness for my sins.  Today I humble myself and surrender my life to you.  Lord Jesus will you please forgive me.  I want to be born again.  I renounce the satan and the kingdom of darknesss.  I totally commit myself to your Lordship Jesus and vow to love and serve you with all my heart, my mind, my soul, and my strength.  I am yours Lord Jesus to live for your purpose in Jesus name amen.
