Monday, December 6, 2010:
- Today we are out for a meeting! Please complete the essay topic left for you to do as classwork (What will like be like without technology and electricity? How will you adjust and survive?). Finish homework assignments from over the weekend if you have not done so.
- HOMEWORK: Finish reading all chapters assigned last week from Everything’s An Argument.
Tuesday, December 7, 2010:
- Period 4 will complete a rhetorical analyses of advertisements.
- Period 6 will complete a rhetorical analysis of Langston Hughes’ short essay entitled “Salvation.”
- HOMEWORK: Period 4 will complete a rhetorical analysis of Langston Hughes’ short essay entitled “Salvation.” Period 6 will complete a rhetorical analysis of Girl by Jamaica Kincaid. Both assignments will utilize the Rhetorical Analysis Handout Questions (page 105 from Everything’s An Argument).
Wednesday, December 8, 2010:
- Early dismissal! No class! Continue to catch up on missing classwork and homework.
- HOMEWORK: There is no homework assigned for this class tonight. Enjoy!
Thursday, December 9, 2010:
- Close Reading of “Salvation” (Period 4) and “Girl” (Period 6). Multiple Choice Practice.
- HOMEWORK: Bring in a copy of your resume, or email it to yourself so that you will be able to work on it during class time tomorrow. If you do not have a resume, make a list in your notebook of all the jobs, volunteers experiences, school activities, and other extra-curricular activities which you have participated in since 9th grade.
Friday, December 10, 2010:
- Graduation Project & Writing Portfolio Day - Resume, Cover Letter, Research Paper Creative Writing, and Transcript Self-Assessment. Guess what - you’re in the home stretch! You’re almost done your graduation project/writing portfolio!
- HOMEWORK: Complete all four components listed above handwritten in your notebook for Monday.
