Children will discover the properties of wind.

- Direct observation of children that understand that in order for air to be wind it must be on the move.

- Results of activity.

- Ask children to name as many wind words as they can and list on board.

- Whole group - Take children to the school yard to experiment with wind.

- Provide streamers and bubbles for children to observe the direction of wind.

- Provide a clear plastic bag and have children wave the open bag in the air until it is inflated. Twist the bags and bring wind bags back to the class.

- Record children’s observations of wind bags. Have children bang the bottoms of bags and send the wind on its way again.

- Activity: Draw a picture of a windy day.

- Can you see the wind?

- How does the wind feel?

- Do you think you have wind in your bag or do you think you have air?

- Describe activities you enjoy doing on a windy day.
