Pirates in the news
several actions by the FCC in the united states against pirates this week.
Alex Alcime, received a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture, for an unlicensed radio transmitter on the frequency 95.7 MHz in Fort Myers, Florida. Mr. Alcime is apparently liable for a forfeiture in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000).
also from that station, Patrick Michael Ford received his 10 g fine too
Thomas L. Morey, received a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture, for an unlicensed radio transmitter on the frequency 88.3 MHz in St. Petersburg, Florida out of his garage. Mr. Morey is apparently liable for a forfeiture in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000).
Mikhail Rhodd , received a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture, for "89.5 FM Stuntastic Radio." from his residence in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. Mr. Rhodd is apparently liable for a forfeiture in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000).
Antonio Robinson, received a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture, for 105.5 MHz from his commercial suite in Miami, Florida Mr. Robinson is apparently liable for a forfeiture in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000).

Gabriel Garcia operator of "KNRG-FM" was in the news this last week for his $25,000 fine. Allan Wiener discussed it on WBCQ’s Allan Wiener Worldwide on Friday.

I do feel obliged to mention the thread on the FRN titled What will YOU be doing on Harold Camping Day? not for its relevant information on pirate radio, but the single fact that it now has 102 replies, that may be the longest thread on the FRN that I’ve seen in 10 years.
DjPoptart posts about the upcoming Dayton hamvention. scheduled for the May 21 weekend. Looks like a few people are going & trying to put together a meet up there. Dayton of course is the mac daddy of hamventions and is a great source for parts, also people watching.
