NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission that we formally recognize Dave Cook as Volunteer of the Year on behalf of the Friends of Drake Well Inc. He has served as a Friends of Drake Well and Mobile Energy Education Training – Unit (MEET-U) advisor for the past three years and is currently the MEET-U chairperson. He was instrumental in the procurement of the International Truck for MEET-U and he personally oversees that it is maintained to the highest standards. The MEET-U exhibit logged almost 7,100 miles in 2010 and Dave was responsible for driving over 6,500 of those miles (contributing over 1000 hours of his time). The amazing part wasn’t that he was forced to squeeze the 70-foot-long unit into places where the rest of us would shudder to park our cars. The astonishing thing was he managed do all this while holding a full-time position with Universal Well Services in Meadville. His intricate knowledge of the oil and gas industry truly made him an asset in the development of the MEET-U exhibit script.
