Welcome to the Episcopal Church of St. Andrew
The Fifth Sunday after Pentecost 9 July 2017
The flowers at Old St. Andrew’s are given by Mary Shepard in thanksgiving for wonderful family and friends. The flowers at Gould Road are given by the Potter family in celebration of the
anniversary of Greg’s transplant.
We host children from three low-income housing developments this Tuesday and Wednesday for camping and adventure activities. If you’re helping in any capacity please email Jay (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call the office to leave your cell phone in case of last-minute, weather-induced changes to the program. Please sign up to help on 24-25 July when we host kids from Franklin Field and Franklin Hill housing developments in Dorchester.
Morris Edwards leads our Reel Theology discussion of Chariots of Fire this Wednesday at 7 pm. Copies in the office. On Tuesday, 9 August at 7 pm we are joined by author Tom Vaughan for Novel Theology to discuss his book The Other Side of Loss.
Set up your appointment to have your picture taken for the new Saint Andrew’s Directory. A good photo directory is an important resource, particularly for new members. Portrait sessions are being scheduled on
• Thursday, July 13 from 2-9 PM
• Friday, July 14 from 2-9 PM
• Saturday, July 15 from 10 AM - 4:40 PM.
Participants receive a free 8 x 10 color portrait and have the option of buying additional photos in a wide variety of sizes. Bruce Avery will be taking reservations during coffee hour TODAY. You can also contact Bruce directly (603-748-2585 or email@example.com). If you are unavailable on 13-15 July, please let Bruce know and he’ll give you a call when the alternative date is finalized. We get a new photo directory at no cost to the church or to you (although LifeTouch will be delighted if you decide to purchase additional prints), so PLEASE SIGN UP.
Edward Kanu, who was with us last Sunday, needs our help with loading the shipping container to Africa he has coming the end of July. Please meet at St. Andrew’s on Friday, 28 July at 1 pm to bring boxes to Sunapee. On Saturday, 29 July at 8 am, strong folks are needed to load the container at 18 Central Street in Sunapee. Clothing donations for Africa International Mission Services can be left at our Thrift Shop. Other items can be dropped at 18 Central Street or contact Edward at 603-858-2615 or
firstname.lastname@example.org. To learn more about Edward’s mission go to africaintmissionservices.org
Be a Loafer. Please contact Marilyn Paradis at 419-360-5475 or email@example.com to help with our welcome of new church members. We need people to bake an occasional loaf of (yeast) bread and others to visit newcomers with the fresh homemade bread and a welcome packet.
Summer Cookouts take place on Wednesdays at 5:30pm. Bring something to grill and something to share, and relax and enjoy the company and conversation.
Epiphany Episcopal Church is transforming its nave into a wonderful space that creates community and highlights the presence of Christ in Word and Sacrament but also in the assembly gathered for worship. Thanks to the wonderful teams from St. Andrew’s who helped this past Wednesday and Thursday.
Faith & Issues will next meet on Tuesday, 22 August from 7-8:30 to continue discussing The Book of Joy by Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama (no meeting in July). In September the discussion will be around Days of Awe and Wonder - How to be a Christian the 21st Century by Marcus J. Borg.
