Food Journal Jan 1-7

These first few days we were traveling.  Since I hadn’t started my elimination diet yet, I just ate whatever was being served.  I felt pretty “normal” these days.  By that I mean what has become my normal: nausea after eating and other gastrointestinal issues.

             Omelet with peppers, mushrooms, and cheese

             Black eyed peas with tomatoes and carrots

             Chocolate/peanut candy

             Gingersnap with Nutella

             Waffle with blueberries and sunflower seedfs

The elimination diet starts today.  You’ll notice the format of the journal has changed.  I need to keep times with this diet because I am also tracking symptoms and the times they occur and looking for correlations.

        Skipped breakfast- need to shop for allowable foods

Noon: Coffee with unsweetened almond milk

        12:15pm Salmon with Penzey’s Trinidad seasoning

             Baked potato with Earth Balance and salt & pepper

             Water & vitamins

        2:30 Water

        3:15 1 slice pear, 1 slice kiwi (from Liam’s snack)

        4:00 Water & vitamins

        4:15 Pear


                Black Walnuts

        4:25  Coffee with unsweetened almond milk

        6:00  Rice

             Navajo Stew (sweet potatoes, onion, green pepper, tomato, olive oil, salt & pepper,

                 chipotle en adobo, cilantro, pinto beans)

        6:15  Water & vitamins

        7:30 Water

        9:10 Green tea

        9:55 Water

        10:30 Water

        Still feeling my “normal” crappiness today.  


        9:00am Breakfast Quinoa (quinoa, water, apple, cranberries, agave nectar, cinnamon,

     Earth Balance, coconut oil)

11:10 Banana

     Part of a pear

12:30pm  Rice

     Leftover Navajo stew

     Cheezy Taco Kale Chips (kale, olive oil, taco seasoning, nutritional yeast)

4:00 Smoothie: almond milk, spinach, chia seeds, kiwi, blueberries, pineapple, agave


7:00  Curried Split Pea Soup (onion, garlic, coconut oil, curry powder, salt & pepper,

     cayenne pepper, vegetable broth, dried split peas, carrots, potatoes)

7:15  Water & vitamins

8:20 Water

9:55  Water

10:35  Water

Felt good most of the day.  Only nauseous once.  Felt energetic and awake for the first

time in a LONG time!

Still feeling energetic, only nauseous once again today.

8:40  Dried cherries (HUGE diet snafu!  Should have read the ingredients.  Laden with      

     corn syrup!)


Felt pretty good again.  Starting to make some possible correlations.  

Reflections on the first four days of my elimination diet.  I feel so much more energetic- probably due to the large number of fruits and vegetables that I am now eating.  My symptoms have definitely decreased, looking forward to making some definite food correlations over the next couple weeks.
