Senior Athletes-Do you play two varsity sports and have a 3.25 GPA? If so, apply for the Pride of the Panthers $1,000 scholarship. Deadline is May 1st.
Seniors Who Attended Baker Elementary School – The district offers the Ted Barnett scholarship, in honor of the former principal at Baker. The deadline for the $500 scholarship is May 1st.
The Audubon Society offers a $1,000 scholarship to a senior who plans to study an environmentally-related field. Deadline is April 30th.
Keystone Boys State will be held on the campus of Shippensburg University from June 22-28th. Any interested junior boy should stop in counseling for more information.

AP Exam Information-Those students currently enrolled in an AP course or those students wanting to take an AP Exam can access registration and payment information on the High School and Counseling Websites. Registration opens February 24th and closes March 14th. Please plan to register early. Any questions, stop in the Counseling Office.
Book Drive – Beginning Monday, March 3rd, there will be a book drive to collect new and gently used books and magazines. These items will be collected in various homerooms all next week and will be donated to the teen lounge at Children’s Hospital.
Creative Writing Contest-Enter the Ralph Munn Creative Writing Contest and have the chance to win cash and have your work published. Entries in poetry, short prose and screen writing will be judged by local writers and professors. The deadline to enter is April 21st. More information is available on the bulletin board near the printers in the library, or ask a librarian.
USC Rowing Team – brought home 3 medals from the 14th annual Indoor rowing Championship hosted by North Allegheny High School on Saturday, March 1st. Senior Brendan O’Keefe won the Bronze medal in the men’s Varsity Lightweight category. Junior Brendan Boettger won the Gold medal in the Men’s JV Lightweight category and Freshman Suzan Turan won the Bronze medal in the Women’s Novice category. Congrats to everyone!
Congratulations to the Swimming and Diving Team-Both the boys and girls teams won their section with near perfect records. Two divers, Brett Lohman and Ryan Walsh qualified for WPIALS. Brett Lohman finished in the top 20 at North Allegheny. The boys and girls swim teams competed in the WPIAL championships this past Thursday and Friday at Pitt. The boys took second place and were very close to upsetting powerhouse rivals North Allegheny who ended in first place. The boys, led by junior Ryan Dudzinski, broke 5 WPIAL records and won all relays. The girls finished strong in 5th place. Both boys and girls teams have their sights set on the state championship coming up on March 12 and 13 at Bucknell Univesity. We will be sending an unprecedented team of 22 athletes who qualified for the state competitions. Good luck to our swimmers.
