Deep Dish Pizza Casserole

2 cans                refrigerated crescent rolls

1 (8oz)                tomato sauce

1 lb.                ground beef

1                 onion, chopped

1 pkg.                pepperoni slices

1 can                 mushrooms

¼ c.                sliced black olives

2-3 c.                mozzarella cheese, shredded and divided

Spray 9x13 pan with cooking spray.  Unroll 1 can of crescent rolls and press into bottom of pan.  Brown beef with onions.  Drain off fat.  Mix with tomato sauce, and spread over rolls in pan.  Sprinkle 1 cup cheese over beef.  Layer pepperoni slices over cheese, and sprinkle mushrooms and olives over pepperoni.  Sprinkle remaining cheese.  Cover with remaining package of crescent rolls.  Bake at 250 degrees for 20-30 minutes, or until browned and heated through.

If freezing, cook casserole for 10 minutes, then remove and cool.  Cover with foil, label and freeze.  When ready to serve, transfer from freezer to refrigerator to thaw.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Cook 30-40 minutes or until browned and heated through.
