The meeting of the Dogwood Chapter of FMCA was called to order at 10:15 a.m. in the Holiday Trav L Park, Virginia Beach, VA. by President Mann Duff on December 4, 2010.

Mann welcomed new members and guests. New members: Richard and Ellie Bonewitz and Steve and Mary Hall.  Guests: Dave and Jacki Gillbert and Debby Deffendall.

Mann thanked the hosts for the weekend: Jim and Susan Buelow, Paul and Nancy Cummings, Dian and Mel Hughes, and Berkley and Karen Alexander.

The following members who hosted rallies for the past year were recognized and given their Dogwood host pins:          Carl and Donna Gruel & Mo and Shirley Martin - VIR in April; Mann and Carolyn Duff - VIR in June; Terry and Judy Davis & Bobby and Barbara Dyke – Rockahock in July;  Fairleigh and Cil Schoolar & Butch and Liz Jones – Luray in September; Berkley and Karen Alexander – Urbanna in November; Jim and Susan Buelow, Paul and Nancy Cummings, Dian and Mel Hughes, & Berkley and Karen Alexander – Virginia Beach in December.

Mann also recognized the officers who served for the past 2 years. President: Mann Duff, VP Membership: Bill Ferebee, VP Rallies: Mann Duff, VP Communication: Carolyn Duff, Treasurer: Barbara Dyke, Secretary: Karen Alexander, National Director: Ed Fisher, Alternate National Director: Pat Allen.

The nominating committee for the past 2 years was recognized for their service: Jim Buelow, Carol Warthan and Nancy Cummings.  Jim announced the nominating committee for the next 2 years: Paul Cummings, immediate past president, Pat Allen, and Barbara Greenwood are serving on the nominating committee for the next 2 years.  

Mann spoke of the importance of participation and encouraged all to step up to the plate when called on to volunteer.

The audit committee was also recognized: Mo Martin, Liz Jones, and Cil Schoolar.  They will continue to do routine audits of the books.

Mann noted that last year Dogwood had donated money to Essex Habitat for Humanity and Central Virginia Food Bank.  A proposal to donate $500.00 to the Central Virginia Food Bank was made.  After discussion a motion was made and seconded to donate $500.00 to the Central Virginia Food Bank.

Mann announced that the FMCA President, Charlie Schrenkel resigned and our member, Judy Czarsty is now acting President.

Our membership has fluctuated over the past few years.  2008 – 59 members, 2009 – 69, 2010 ~55. Mann noted that about 18 members did not renew in 2010 for various reasons.

Secretary’s Report:        A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as published in the newsletter.

Treasurer’s Report:         Barbara read the report and a motion was made and seconded to accept the report.

VP of Rallies:        Acting VP Mann Duff went over the proposed rally schedule.

There was discussion of the location for the December rally.  Several members were checking on other locations and are to get back to Mann with their findings.

Communication: Carolyn Duff asked to send her your email and phone number changes as she would be producing a new directory.  She offered to help anyone who has questions accessing eNews.  Carol Warthan noted that if there was an award for a newsletter, Carolyn would most certainly win.  

Donna Gruel announced she was still making Dogwood mirror covers for $5.00 if any of the new members were interested.  She needs the length measurement of the mirror and the point of attachment (top or bottom).
