After a quick three months hiatus to finish her most recent manuscript curator Faythe Levine is very pleased to announce the first Sky High Gallery show of 2012. We will be featuring new work by two loved Milwaukee based artists; painter Tom Stack and ceramicist Beth Eaton. Please join us to celebrate at the opening party on Gallery Night, April 20th from 6-10pm. The exhibit will run through May 20, 2012 viewable six days a week during shop hours.

The show will feature a combination of ten new paintings by Stack along with a large collection of collaborative ceramic pieces; hand-built vessels constructed by Eaton, illustrated and painted with Stack’s imagery. These collaborative ceramic pieces will be available as cash-and-carry purchases on opening night and throughout the show's duration while inventory lasts. All major credit cards are accepted.

About the artists:

Tom Stack is 40 years old, a Milwaukeean and a self-taught painter.  His materials of choice include #2 pencils, Baltic birch plywood, high-viscosity acrylics, tiny brushes, sloe gin and a magnifying glass.  His subject matter is feathered, furred or scaled, with a not-so-serious focus on predator/prey relationships, nature's will to survive and the encroachment of man.

Beth Eaton is 38 years old, a Milwaukeean and a degreed ceramicist.  Her materials of choice include clay, fingers, rubber stamps, fire-proof paints, malt liquor and Frankenstein stitches.  Her subject matter consists of animals, plants, places and things and their adornment of usable but non-microwavable objects.

Collaborating over a distance of two city blocks, Stack and Eaton share a belief in art as a means of sustainment… a means of SUSTENANCE.
