Using Google Spreadsheets you are going to create a budget:

First find a job that you may be interested in the future.  Find a link to the average salary.  Calculate the monthly salary of that job.

Next find a place to live that’s suitable for someone with that job.  Make sure the rent isn’t too high or too low!  Put the link to your apartment or house on your spreadsheet.  List this on your spreadsheet as Rent.

You’ll need transportation in Miami.  Find a suitable car and calculate the monthly payments of the vehicle.  List this on your spreadsheet as “Transportation”.  Post a link to your car.  Estimate the cost to insure this car as “Insurance.”  The insurance does not need a link.

How much is your student loan payment?  Use this link to help you calculate your monthly payment:

You’ll be going out.  List four recreational activities you might like to do per month and post links to them on your spreadsheet.  List this on your spreadsheet as “Entertainment”.

You will need electricity and water if it’s not included in your apartment/house (most people!)

Estimate it based on the size of your place.

Estimate how much you’ll spend on food per month.  List this on your spreadsheet as “Food”.

Find your expenses for cable, cell phone, and Internet.  Post links to the plans you’ve chosen and list this as “Communication.”

You’ll need to pay taxes!

Think of two other categories you’ll be spending money on!

Add up your two categories with “Housing” “Communication”, “Food”, “Entertainment”, “Insurance”, “Transportation.”  “Taxes”...add up all your spending!   Subtract your spending from your income to come to a net gain or net loss.
