Dear Parents,                                                                April 4th, 2017

Your child has signed up for a school owned Minecraft account for one year. This  is an exciting opportunity for them to engage in a variety of skills including the design and construction of models, simulations, and machines, and collaborate with other students through online gaming activities.

In doing so he/she has agreed to adhere to the ABC Acceptable Use Policy (https://goo.gl/m1RtZm) and to use Minecraft in a respectful and considerate manner. They also understand that any breach of this agreement will result in the suspension of their privileges and reassignment of the account to another student.

Minecraft can be played on multiple servers as it is an  online multiplayer game which many schools worldwide including the ABC, are currently using as an educational platform to support teaching and learning utilising 21st century skills.

Secondary ICT at the ABC uses the ISTE Nets for Students (https://goo.gl/8roZPv) in guiding teaching with technology. While this program does not pretend to encompass all Nets for Students, it is designed to target a great many. We ask that you take a moment to familiarise yourself with these standards.

Due to the fact that the game is played on online servers, students will at times be in contact with other people ingame. We ask that as parents, you maintain access to the account with your child through the user name password and ensure that any customisation by your child of his/her avatar is appropriate for a  school held account.

Queridos padres de familia,

Su hijo/hija se ha inscrito para una cuenta de Minecraft que posee el colegio por un año. Ésta es una emocionante oportunidad para ellos de involucrarse en una variedad de habilidades incluyendo el diseño y construcción de modelos, simulaciones, máquinas, y colaborar con otros estudiantes por medio de las actividades de los juegos en línea.

En hacerlo, él/ella acordará en cumplir con las políticas de uso de la ABC  (https://goo.gl/m1RtZm) y a usar Minecraft de una manera respetuosa y considerada. También entienden que cualquier violación de este acuerdo resultará en la suspensión de su privilegio y la reasignación de la cuenta a otro estudiante.

Minecraft es un juego en línea de multijugadores los cuales varios colegios a nivel mundial incluyendo la ABC, están actualmente usando como una plataforma educacional para apoyar la enseñanza y aprendizaje utilizando habilidades del Siglo XXI.

ICT de Secundaria en la ABC utiliza los Estándares Nacionales para la Educación en Tecnologías de Información (NETS) por sus siglas en inglés, que son parte de la Sociedad Internacional para la Tecnología en Educación (ISTE) por sus siglas en inglés (https://goo.gl/8roZPv), en guiar profesores con la tecnología. Mientras que este programa no pretende incluir todos los NETS para estudiantes, está diseñado para enfocarse en muchos. Les pedimos que tomen un momento para familiarizarse con estos estándares.

Debido a que el juego es en línea, en ocasiones los estudiantes tendrán contacto con otras personas.  Les pedimos que como padres, mantengan acceso a la cuenta con su hijo a través del usuario, contraseña y asegurarse que cualquier personalización de su avatar por él o ella sea adecuada para una cuenta del colegio.

Favor de tomarse un tiempo para firmar el siguiente formulario de permiso si está interesado en que su hijo/ hija tome parte en este proyecto innovador.
